Management Information Systems or MIS Department, as it is more commonly known, is responsible for setting technical standards and providing reliable and efficient technical support and services to twenty City departments. With over four hundred computers and various peripherals (including printing and storage devices), located throughout the City of Brownsville, centralized support is critical to providing good internal customer service. That support is provided to the City employees 24x7 through a mostly phone based centralized help desk. Support requests are also taken via e-mail and automatically funneled into the help desk software for IT Technician assignment. |
